Juan Lopez Seleccion Superba UK Regional 2016. This UK Regional Edition 2016 cigar has been produce by the Empresa de Habana at their factory in San Antonio de los Baños in Havana Province.
Only 60,000 of these cigars is available so there are only 6,000 number boxes. Each cigar presents two bands, one for the brand and the other declaring “Exclusivo Gran Bretaña” or “Exclusively Great Britain”.

2016 is the second time that Juan Lopez has been chosen to produce a UK Regional Edition, following on from the Selección Suprema of 2009. It also once again sees the recreation of an old band originally found in an album of old cigar bands. This original revealed that it was customary for Juan Lopez cigars to include size names on its bands and there was evidence of additional embossing on the old bands. Both of these features have been faithfully recreate here.

This beautiful cigar has a taste by Hunters & Frankau in Havana during the Habanos festival in March 2016 and then, more recently at the 2016 Summer Cigar Party at the Corithia, London in June. It was agree by most people in attendance that the cigar was rich, pretty full flavoured, very characteristic of the brand but still young.

The Selección Superba is the second vitola to represent the Juan Lopez brand as a UK Habanos Regional Edition. The first was in 2009 with the Selección Suprema which became a firm favourite with Habanos enthusiasts and cigar collectors. Like its predecessor, the Selección Superba once again doffs its cap to its past with an old style Juan Lopez band which has been recreate especially for this cigar.
The original band that was discover reveal that it was customary for Juan Lopez cigars to include size names on the band and there was evidence of additional embossing.
Both of these features have been faithfully recreate, including the design of the Tapaclavo (label covering the nail that secures the lid) which has also been revive as a tribute to this old Habanos brand.

Measuring 5 7⁄8” (150mm) x 54 ring gauge, the Selección Superba are present in dress boxes of 10 cigars. Each box is number and only 6,000 boxes have been produce for exclusive sale in the UK .
