punch short de punch for sale
Punch is one of the very oldest Habano brands. Don Manuel Lopez of Juan Valle & Co founded it in the mid 19th century with an eye to the booming British market where a humorous magazine of the same name was much in vogue.
Although the publication is no more, a smiling Mr. Punch, the clown who personified the magazine, is still featured on every box, cigar in hand, and surrounded by 19th Century images of cigar making that remain virtually unchanged over a century and a half later.
Punch’s distinct medium flavor created with a blend of filler and binder tobaccos from Vuelta Abajo is available in a wide variety of sizes which are all long filler and totally hand made.
When you buy a cigar from The Cigar Club you are buying into over 50 years of trading experience. Everything we dispatch is checked for quality. All our Havana cigars bear the EMS (English Market Selection) Stamp of excellence. This guarantees both provenance and quality.

The Punch Short De Punch has a unique size among all Cuban cigars, the Paraisos is a newly created vitola, so despite its name, it is nothing but a short cigar, only a bit shorter than a Robusto. It feels nice between the fingers. There are no soft spots and the wrapper looks of great construction. The wrapper itself is a Corojo wrapper, of Colorado shade with a red hue to it. It feels silky smooth in hand and we can’t wait to light it up.
Before lighting up
The cold draw feels very good, a bit on the firm side, but it is a great start and it leaves some wood on the lips.
Once the foot is lit, the draw reveals some aromas of nuts and wood.
The Punch Short de Punch greets us with the same flavors of nuts and wood. The draw is spot-on, while the cigar smokes cool and remains smooth throughout. There is some honey and some spiciness in the background, especially in the retrohale. Despite being smooth, it has a strong body, its strength is above the medium mark. It is a great cigar to pair with a coffee or some liquor.
In the middle section, the Short de Punch remains cool and smooth, it becomes even fairly creamy and sweet. The flavor profile is similar but with now the addition of some herbal notes. It also remains fairly strong, just below medium-strong.
In the last third, the Punch Short de Punch remains very enjoyable, with still plenty of wood and nuts. The young age of the cigar shows itself as expected at this stage, with some bitterness, but it is nothing that a few months of ageing can make go away. The strength stays at the medium level until the end.
In summary, the Punch Short de Punch is a well balanced smoke, with great Cuban flavors. A good cigar to age.
